Google debuts Internet service running 100 times faster than the national average - NY Daily News - The company that originally made a name for itself as a simple Internet search provider has billed its foray into Fiber as an opening up of communities to choice, writing on the Fiber blog that “choice is better than no choice. Competition and choice help make products better for users.” - That’s an allusion to the alleged monopolies many cable Internet service providers wield over local markets. Charter, Comcast, Cablevision, and Time Warner are some of the country’s largest.
